I'm looking for a free movie player, but not any kind. I need one where you can set the sound output from a specific source. What I mean is, I have two soundcards.. the onboard one and the X-Fi. I have the X-Fi connected to the surround sound system and the onboard connected to the TV.
Now, I can switch cards through the multimedia tab and select where the sound goes to. But I remembered something and downloaded Winamp, and there it was.. select sound output.. that let me play a song in Winamp and a different song in Media Player and I'd have the two songs playing from differing speakers. Great!
So what I'm looking for is something that plays video and allows me to set it up the same way. Thus, I can do my normal thing on the PC while running a movie on the TV, and neither will interfere with the other.
I know Winamp plays video, but it plays it very poorly. I tried, it doesn't work well with the different codecs. I tried VLC but that doesn't have the option. Is there one anywhere?
