Hi all,

Im looking for some web space just to practice my HTML skills that are pretty rusty and to work on some CSS etc.

Just wandering if there is any free webhosting out there at the moment that isnt absolutely terrible?

Hosting isn't necessary if all you are doing is practicing HTML and CSS. All you need is a text editor and a browser.

If you want to get a little more advanced you could also install Apache/MySQL/PHP and have your own PC act as a webserver. [I use XAMPP for this purpose].

PHP and MySQL allows you to build interactive and dynamic websites [woooosh!] :p

http://www.110mb.com/ I have some off them, even though I pay for mine off tsohost. Only thing with all the bandwidth and space you cant upload files larger than 10mb at a time. So if its soley for a website then 110MB is good you only get one Mysql database but its good enough. Plus no ads too I think.

Seconded, tis great for a place to practice skills. Although the FTP server is often full most of the time leaving you with only the web interface, even though thats not too bad, hell you can unzip stuff on there. :)

Surely you just need a browser? There's no need to host html/css in order to test it out. And it'll be quicker too.

thanks for the offers for webspace but ive signed up for some free stuff just to tinker about :D

No doubt ill be posting a lot for help :D

I have just setup my account. What do the three little pairs of tick boxes mean when you click on the permission tab for a file.
