Free word processor for XP.

I've tried Abiword but I cannot get the spell checker to work. It must be able to handle .doc and chek my spellungz in a pleesing mannor.

+1 for OpenOffice, almost identical to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher etc. but free.

If you don't want to pay for it then this. However you can use Microsoft Office 2010 Beta for awhile.
