i was going to extend my xbl membership a bit with the 2day code as im low on cash for now but its taken

Did the same, just copied it to xbox redeem code web page.

Are you on gold, dont think it works with gold membership because I am on free service.

it does say that you can extend you gold membership by redeeming a code.. unless the 48hr one is invalid when you're on gold :confused:

48 hour codes won't extend you gold membership. They just let silver members play online. Post up or just email me via trust when you gold runs out, I've got some 48 hour codes knocking around
