At £100+ for a keyboard and £50 for a mouse they need to be a little more than no frills.

No frills might have not been the right choice of words, it was meant more that they don't have features that are superfluous to performance, i.e RGB lighting, a USB passthrough or audio jacks. They are high quality, performance products designed for competitive gaming. Hope that clears it up for you :)
 
The XG M2 is a solid bit of kit. Took a punt on one a while back and been suitably impressed. It up there with the quality from the alternates from Steelseries (which it replaced) and Zowie.
