I'm considering one of these and wanted to check if it's the same device as the "Mediagate MG-350HD"

The linked model of the Mediaplayer does not come with a hard drive, is it simply a case of buying one, (like a samsung) and sliding it inside the enclosure?

After reading around, it appears these take some configuring to acces on a wireless network. I plan to cable it to a wireless access point, which should then let it appear on the network without the need to install any software on my PC?

Any comments/recommendations appreciated! ;)

I got one last week, they only take IDE hard drives though so that sata2 drive wont work. Also, you dont need a harddrive if you just want to stream over the lan/wlan. Setting it up is very easy took about 5 mins :) however, if your running vista you need to download the newest setup program from freecom's website as the one on the cd doesnt sync properly with the drive. You need software on the pc to access the drive but not the other way round but if you want to read/write to the drive, the pc needs the write code of the drive and id number. And yep the one without the drive is the same as the one with except obviously it has no hard drive but also, the inside is accessible wheras it isnt on the ones with hard drives pre installed.

On a side note, the output quality from the HDMI is very good indeed I was suprised, i'd definately recommend it.
