Freelancer (2003). Any games like it?

eve online is nothing like freelancer sadly. Jumpgate evolution is more like a MMORPG version of freelancer. Potentially anyway. Probably be epic fail like most MMOs.

I am just playing through freelancer for the first time (vista without graphics probs)

I'm finding it a bit repetative to be honest. I am about level 13... had some battles with big ships involved but it's all a bit too easy so far. I'm not claiming to be some sort of uber gamer either, just seems to be a bit rinse and repeat.

X3 looks good but when I played it (back when it first came out) it was buggy as hell. Does sound promising, but like Eve I just dont have hours and hours to 'waste' on games any more.
 
Freelancer was a 1 of a kind, at the moment there is no game that matches it.

The reason why it was great, was it was simple for people who just wanted to play a great space shooter and deep enough to keep most hardcore space shooters happy.

You could just play the game and trade your life away, hire pilots to escort you and your goods to different sectors and gain loads of credits.

Or you could bounty hunt and join gangs raiding stations, ships and cargo.

Was such a great game.
