I've recently gone back to Freelancer for a good old fashioned space-blast and I've found this "add-on" called "TNG" (the next generation??)
My original Freelancer was crashing whenever I went into a major jump-gate so thought I'd try this add on to see if it fixed it - which it did nicely!!

My question is: does anyone know what this adds to the original game?? And also, the mouse aiming during combat seems a bit sluggish compared to the original?? (although I've also recently changed ships which could account for that!)

Any info/tips appreciated??

Thanks....

google turned up this about the TNG add-on :

" ... This massive mod for Freelancer expands and deepens the universe by added more ships, equipment, areas, and many more. Greater customization options, deeper NPC AI, and enhanced graphics all add to the modified gameplay that will be sure to please all Freelancer fans ... "

I think I might have to get this too .... sometime ;)

When I got Freelancer a few months back I had a look at this mod, seem to remember it was recommended you didn't use it for the standard campaign.

To be honest I was happy just playing through the original campaign but ran into problems when my computer blue-screened every time I tried to go through the New York jump gate!
The TNG patch fixed the crashing problem but the control of my ship now seems a bit sluggish - certainly not as reactive as before I applied the patch/mod!!
