Hellooo

Just started playing this game again, as i loved it the first time round. However i was just wondering if there were any mods/patches that tweak the game a little? Something that spruces up the graphics or along the lines. Or any mods that change the ships etc?

I've googled but all i seem to find is multiplayer server mods :(

My second fav space shooter since Freespace 2 :)

Check out the Rebalance mod at http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/ It's awesome and introduces so many new elements/features. Lancers Reactor seems to be timing out for me atm though, keep checking it.
 
It's crap compared to Freespace 2 (man I played that game to death online!)but its still active online lol

as above lancers reactor is best for downloading mods for the game

If you go on multiplayer void2015 is worth a look, ship physics are more standard than colorselite (that mod has unlimited thruster and gun power, and the modded ships are rather unbalanced)

Has a few extra systems and factions, the Mod maker has tried to keep in line with the original Freelancer theme and storyline and sorta continued it which is cool :)


also Asylum 51 mod is pretty cool, that has all the ships from X2 in it and some extras with loads of extra systems etc.

not to Freelancer no... but is to Freespace 1 ;)

Freelancer is basically a sequal to Starlancer, not the same storyline or anything like that... but they do have many links to each other as well as being set in the same universe etc, and created by the same people yadda yadda yadda.
 
i've clocked up 70 hours on wireplay server online, no user mods but the NPC's are a bit more challenging. still love the game
 
I used to play on the Jolt Uk servers and had a blast :) It sad that theres only one good ship in the game (please, no debates lol) but I always favoured the Sabre :) I've always liked the game heaps even if it was a bit too scripted in single player. It's just a shame that netplay got dumbed down massively.
 
theres still some decent servers going though. Void2015 mod is worth a look, as med sed before. Shame that Jolt wen to pot, and Asgard V3. Speaking of which, anyone tried the Asgard v4? I heard somewhere there was such thing but never looked any more into it.
 
Make sure you use the 1.4 patch. It's not an official release, Microsoft stopped supporting it eons ago, but it resolves a lot of issues. It does not add anything extra to the game, just fixes the bugs in the original.

Can't find the link to the file at the moment, but if i find it i will post it..
 
When i first played this game, i only managed to play on one multiplayer server with my profile? If i visited another server, i lost all my inventory/money and had to make a new profile :confused:

I wanna find out if this was an error with the game, or you couldnt actually use the same profile on different servers :(

Here you will find the friendliest, most diverse, active and engaging community I have ever encountered in an online game. The mod they run is very good also. New ships, quite a few more systems, more challanges and even some changes into the game play mechanics (faster cruise speed, ship sub-systems you can replace with more advanced models much like weapons and shields).

I highly recommend it. Any questions, fire away or register and ask on their forums. Make sure you read all the stickies relating to rules and also making it possible for your forum account to post new threads and replies.
 
Hehe, i got a copy of freespace 2 on my shelf gathering dust.

It looked amazing on my voodoo banshee and 350mhz AMD

I wonder how it will look after i reinstall it :)

If only i had a working throttle joystick :(

Every server you need to make a new character

Also you need to save your multiplayer ID number, yoiu get thius when you first go online, if you dont save this then you will lose any chars you have online
