Freemans PS3 Pre-order, HURRY.

You don't really realise how much it is until you see it advertised with the price.

Reminds me of the good old days when the Saturn and PS1 first debuted.

I cant believe kids will ask their parents for these.. i wouldnt dare.. £600~

That brings up an interesting point, when I was a kid I wouldn't ask for something this expensive, even as a bday or Christmas gift.

Does this mean that the console developers are firmly shifting their focus away from the pre 16 market to the 16-35. One would assume thats their main consumer base anyway but such a high price tag for whats generally been known as a kids toy for many years, is firmly moving out of reach for them.

This puts the Wii in a better position now as they will be able to target the pre 16 consumer even more, especially with their range of games.

just sat here talking with my mum over it, i remember when i was young i got a sega mega drive for xmas, just asked if that kind of cash is even worth considering if i was 9 again, she replied, well i would have got you an xbox 360 (i told her the price etc)

i still cant over the price

It's not really the initial prices that's scary, lets face it within a month most kids will want at least two more games, they have the attention span of a goldfish these days and expect things yesterday.

so add on a couple of games and you have the real cost as they'll get bored of the bundled games quickly.

£299 for the base PSX with demo disc, £379 for the Sega Saturn, an extra controller and Daytona or VF1 IIRC... or maybe it was Toh Shin Den? (sp?)

I won't be buying one and if the daughter still wants one for Christmas she's going to be dissapointed come Christmas morning.
