FreeNAS + XBMC, can it be done?

I have a N40L microserver and would like to have FreeNAS installed. But I would like to use it with XBMC as well!
Can it be done?
 
yes.
But I did install FreeNAS yesterday but couldn't see how.
On the other hand I am on WHS2011 now and so far it is going well with XBMC!
 
Ahh ok. I wouldn't know how but just wanted to ask.

Are you just trying out OS's at the moment then? I can imagine it won't be as easy as using WHS2011 to install XBMC.
 
Yep, I am trying out what would best suit my needs.
HTPC with XBMC, File server to hold my media and other files, WOL to put the server on sleep and wake up from anywhere, VPN, Android phone app compatibility.
That is just to start with ;)
 
I'm the same other than the WOL. It will be on all the time. Haven't looked into VPN yet though. Interested in what you are thinking for a Android app though. I just have 1 that does my SAB/SB/CP needs.
 
Found couple of free apps that can do WOL and some other functions.
I am still looking for some sort of remote functionality to control the mouse, I know some apps are already there!

Edit:
SickBread and CouchPotato are in my "to do list" :)
