I don't know if I am wrong in stating a new post but no doubt I will be told? ok I have had today a dish fitted and the cable as to f connectors so one is connected to my TV I have read on here that I can connected both connections to a freesat box(freesat is build into my TV) so to my LG TV I only have two HDMI ports so form advice taken from members I purchased a 2 in 1 out HDMI switch so to my question please and If i am not asking to much from members is I will have to buy another HDMI switch with more ports so I will connected my devices as follows blu-ray player, firestick, and the recordable box, right so I can record some programmes but what if I want to watch something on my firestick and switch. am I right in thinking that the TV box will stop recording if so can I work it a another way I am very sorry if this is a stupid questior but I am not technically minded thank you for reading my post

Stacking switches in the way you're suggesting is not the best idea. Any signal losses through one switch will be multiplied, so you run the risk of losing the signal. Also, if you do cascade two of the same 2-in:1-out switches, you've still only got enough inputs to cover the three devices. What happens if you want to connect a fourth device in the future? I know you'll probably answer that it's unlikely, but you thought you had enough when you got the 2:1 switch. Now it's less than 2-weeks later and you're already out of input sockets.

Wouldn't it be better to ditch the 2:1 and get a proper 4-way HDMI switch to replace it?

As for the Freesat recorder, it shouldn't stop recording just because the signal is switched.
