I've recently moved house and was using my Vista media Centre specs as below.
When I plugged the living room antenna straight into the TV it picks up DVB-T channels ok but the picture quality is pretty poor. However when I plug it into the TV card I get nothing. I've even tried installing the TV card in a spare Windows 7 machine and still nothing.
Now I've noticed that the house has a sat dish and a space coax coming out of the same antenna panel. It looks to me like the old NTL coax I used to have but this place isn't in a cabled area so I guess its the cable for the sky dish. Previous occupants still getting the sky newsletter here so seems good?
If that makes sense then I guess its cheaper to get a FreeSat card than a new aerial put up.
My choices look like:
Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA HD-S2 (about £80) or
Compro Videomate S350 (about £23)
Does anyone know the difference between them? There must be something pretty big to justify the price difference?
Do they both integrate well with Windows 7 Media Centre?
Many thanks
