Freesat - "Free Time"

from what I can see it's basically like "on demand" where you can watch something anytime.

i wonder what it's true capabilities are though, because with HD shows on Sky you need to wait until most of it has downloaded before you can start watching, etc.

imo I would wait for proper real world reviews to see how good it is first.

also why wouldn't you just record shows that you wanted to watch anyway? so you could watch them anytime. or is that what the box does and it is limited to say 1 day's worth of programming, so you can't watch yesterdays but today's only?

personally i would save the cash and just set programmes i like to record or watch them through iplayer, etc.

As far as I can tell, it just adds on demand programs to the planner. You scroll left for earlier instead of right for later.

I don't use it at all as there is only BBC iplayer and ITV content on it, but you still have all the other channels in the guide. Pain in the bum to be honest. Just fire up iplayer or the ITV one

I have one, software isn't great. EPG isn't intuitive and lacks vital info. Picture is better than the Foxsat HDR but that's about all it has going for it. I never use the backwards 'freetime' guide. I just go to the iplayer app etc. 4od and Demand 5 not launched yet, but there is a youtube app the works with leanback, it's quite good.
