Freespace 2 mods?

Been watching the new Battlestar Galactica on DVD, and it's bought back memories of playing Freespace 2!

So I'm going to dig out the disk and reinstall it, the last time I played it through was ages ago so can't really remember it much.

Anyone know of any decent mods (ie graphical upgrades, stuff like that, things that will enhance rather than change the storyline)?

Also, will this game work ok with a 360 controller or will I need to joystick it?

The FreeSCP mod is the main one to get - updates everything pretty much

After that, for gameplay mods you've got loads to choose from.
