Freesync VS 144Hz

Hello,

Finally buying a monitor tonight! Got a budget of £300 maximum. I would prefer to have 1440p resolution but this amount for a new monitor is making my options limited.

Seems I can have 1440p 60hz with Freesync, or 144Hz at 1080p but no Freesync. There are no monitors in range that do 144Hz with 1440p either.

Is Freesync/G-sync worth it over a 144hz monitor. My budget doesn't seem to accommodate both.

edit: Ok its not quite 1440p I realize.

Just to add im planning on buying a new gpu along with the monitor. Probably the 390x.
