Freeview box Q&A!?

Hi all, i'm in the mood for a freeview box which has an HD. But, I think the prices are a bit high. Now, i've seen a Sagem one (which my friend has). His has an 80Gb HD in it, and the one i'm looking at doesnt, although the box and all the spec (bar the HD) is exactly the same.

So, my question, I have a HD sat here not doing anything, does anyone know if I can just chuck it in!? Or do you know of any boxes that you can do this with!?

I would get freeview for my comp, but i like to have the TV on in the background whilst working....so.........i want a proper box

No, you wont be able to do that.

There are veryt subtle but very definate codes thats wont let you do that.

Id be very happy for anyone to prove me wrong on that, so i could add myself one to my dvd recorder, but ive heard no ways yet of doing so.
