Freeview HD content - Screen goes black for few seconds

Last year I bought a 55" Philips TV and noticed that the screen would regularly go black and it would also lose sound for a second when watching Freeview HD content. This probably happened about every 10 minutes or so. At the time I assumed that it was down to a poor quality aerial so I had a new one fitted recently and the same happens.
I've updated the firmware on the TV and the problem is still there. Signal strength and quality also seem ok and I've disconnected all AV equipment so it's just a plain old TV right now.
It doesn't do it in any other situation, just on Freeview HD, standard definition stuff is fine as is all other inputs.

Any ideas?

I have the same thing. I have a communal aerial int he flat and thought it was that. Go an aerial engineer out who connected a gizmo tomy aerial socket and he said signal strength was ok. But I get pixellation, pauses, black screens, sound loss still. Am watching through a BT youview provided Humax box, sometimes I notice where recordings (usually on non HD channels to be fair) pause and skips, I can rewind the recording and the section that was skipped, is there!

I have another TV on the same aerial and that one is fine so I don’t think it’s the aerial.

I used to have an old Freeview box that had a very similar issue when watching HD content and it turned out the chip inside was overheating, I put a stick on heatsink on it and that fixed it, I know that wont work on a TV but maybe check for dust or blocked vents.

It’s been happening since the TV was new so I’d be surprised if it was overheating. I think I’ll see if I can borrow. Free view box to see if it still does it with that.
