Freeview HDD Replacement

I think the HDD is knackered in my freeview box as when i switch it on the HDD clicks for abit, then dont spin up, the LCD screen just continuously displays "HOLD"..

If i try and replace the HDD can i just take the old one out and whack the new one in? or is there some sort of compression or softmod i have to do before it works?

I think they use a Maxtor IDE drive on those, if you google for Digifusion blah blah I'm sure you'll find the web site of a guy who has done an upgrade to a 160Gb drive with no problems

Maybe the HDD is under warranty?

Whack the serial number into the manufacturers website and find out?
