Freeview Signal boosters

I need to replace the one I have as the moulded power cable has been damaged.

Are there any boosters that boost the signal better than other or are they all much of a muchness?

I managed to pick a Philex amplifier up from B&Q for £1 in the sale a couple of weeks ago and it works fine on my daughters TV.
