Hi I don't have a TV aireal connection in my bedroom but I have a Sky aireal connection because I used to have sky. Is there either a sky card I can get to view freeview channels such as E4 or can I buy a freeview box that I can use the Sky aireal connection with?

thanks

You can get FTA and FTV channels through satellite (free to air and free to view) free to air includes stuff like the BBC, free to view (still) includes Channel4, 5 and i think ITV1 (although ITV may have moved)

Until recently E4 and other good channels were subscription only, however, according to the following site

http://www.vowles-home.demon.co.uk/Sat/SkyFTA.htm

These have now gone FTA so you need a DVB-S (digital satellte) tuner card for your PC or any number of DVB-S recievers - a sky branded digibox means you could get FTV channels (FTV requires a Sky FTV viewing card - £20 from sky one off fee, if you can get through to someone who knows what it is)

Easiest option is to now buy a Freesat box for <£50. No channel 5 until later in the year.

Alternatively try and blag a unused Sky box off of a family member or friend (possibly they upgraded to Sky+ so have a spare box?) and then as above phone Sky for a £20 Freesat-from-Sky card. This option includes Ch.5 now.

Yeah, you can get Sky without a subscription which gives you all the freeview channels (plus I think some sky exclusive ones too) though a Sky box and Dish. Its not very well advertised however, as they want to convince people subscriptions are the way to go. Gove them a ring and ask.
