Is the file a streaming one or do you have the whole thing on your hard drive?

Thanks filbuster, it'll be to convert full recorded streams saved on HDD.

I've just had a thought though, won't Windows bundled moviemaker be able to do this?

SUPER (being so versatile) generally converts "anything to anything"....

It could, but windows movie maker won't export things in the avi container. Not to mention it isn't particularly versatile regarding the otions about video size and bitrate.
If you want them in avi, select xvid or divx when you use super. x264 is also very good, if you don't mind having them as .mp4 files.
Super is generally very good if you don't want to mess around with mutiple programs to convert video, as it can convert almost any file that is watchable in media player to many different formats.
