Anyone know of a decent free application to reduce the size of the AVI videos produced by FRAPS? I have a couple of cracking BC2 vids I want to upload to webspace but their 1.5GB each!

Have tried googling and a couple of freeware apps which don't work or turn out to be "demos" that want paying for!

Is there something up with the AVIs FRAPS outputs? Handbreak and VirtualDub just don't want to know :(

Ive used both Xvid4PSP and Handbrake for Windows to scale down videos in both size and resolution. As you say you have tried Handbrake already. Can't say Ive tried it with FRAPS.

This is what VDub has to say:

Handbreak just thinks about it for 20 or so seconds and quits to the main screen as if nothing had happened :(

Tried Windows Live Movie Maker? Works for me:)

Metalmickey, you're a star. I'd never have thought of using a MS product. Worked a treat, videos reduced from 3GB to 120MB in seconds.

Quality isn't as good as I've seen but as no other program wanted to touch my FRAPS AVIs it'll have to do :)

what version of vdub are you using? is it vdubmod? if so i had the same issues, using the standard plain vdub (1.9x i think) worked fine with the fraps codec

1.9.9. Doesn't work no matter what. It does convert an AVI I, erm, borrowed, so I think it's my version of FRAPS...
