Freeze, BSOD and restart fail.

Hey

Hope this is ok here will go to software forum if not.

Anyway, I've been having a problem, bout once a week and never in game so far, stuff gradually stops working. for example, tabs in chrome go first than open office stops typing.
Finally all functions lock up leaving a busy cursor. After 4/5mins I get a BSOD that I can't read quick enough. An automatic restart displays the mobo logo for far longer than usual, ~45secs, and then gives a black screen with the "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot device and press a key" error.
Restarts have the same effect but a hard shutdown fixes it.

Any ideas?

Core i7 2600k
OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
8Gbs RAM
2x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 580 SOC

BIOS update?

SSD firmware update as they are dodgy if you look around at all the threads.

Will attempt to flash BIOS first (somehow easier).

Hi,
Just had the exact same problem and black screen come up after??
I Bought system as used 1 month old, has got 2x ocz 60gb agility 3's set in raid "0" by previous owner.(asrock fatal1y pro z68 MB)

Now it did take 4 reboots (switch pc off/on) to get it boot up again.

3 times when it showed the raid page it said STATUS = FAILED and BOOTABLE = NO.

Next page showed this,

4TH Re-boot it came up with Status = ok (I cant remember extact wording).

Then next black screen came up with this-
