Hello guys,

My computer has run stable for around 3days now, OCCT 1 hour no crash, Primetest 95 no crash. 3dmark06 no crash even tried Crysis and also no crash.

The point is, my computer seem to freeze without no reason.
I bet it's because of my memory.

My FSB has been linked with my memory, what is the best thing I could do right now?

My CPU; intel core 2 Quad Q9450 runs at 3.2 Ghz atm, stock is 2.66.

Hope you guys have an idea.

Would probably be a good idea to under clock your memory, then see if that makes a difference. Then start clocking it back up, you may also need to stick some more volts through it if it becomes unstable againa at a higher clock.

Also make sure you are running at the correct timmings and voltage for your memory at stock.

I've linked my FSB with my memory, and my memory is on auto.
I didn't changed any of my voltages.

Hmm that is not an uncommon problem with Nvidia chipsets, I used to have a 790i that did this, in my case it seemed to be cured by improving the northbridge cooling.

I would check on the evga forums as if i recall there was a large thread to do with the 780i problems.

Are you using the latest BIOS (P08)

Try setting qdr to 1600 with a cpu multiplier of 8 that should get the ram running at its rated speed of 800mhz.

vcore = 1.36
fsb = 1.32
spp = 1.45
mcp= auto (1.5)
spp<-->mcp = auto (1.2)

Try those settings as a start, but get ready for some hair pulling, overclocking on these boards can be very frustrating, but it is possible.

That's quite a boost in speed to your memory! :)

download a memtest.iso and burn a bootable CD, if your sticks are carping out you will see some red error messages quite quickly (needs a few hour ideally) . . . if it does produce memtest errors you may have to boost the vDimm or adjust the mem timing or add better cooling to the sticks or slow down the ram frequency! :p

Aah that's the problem, how do you know it runs at 960? [might be a really stupid question].

I got one question, do you think my memory is to slow for the overclock I made? And should it be better that I buy different Memory? If so what memory do you guys recommend? I heard 780i can run Ddr2-1066.

Thanks for the help! I really learn from you guys ^^.
