Another noob I'm afraid. What's the best thing to do with the Freezer 64Pro, use the HS compound already applied or scrub it and go with A/S silver? The stuff that's already on doesn't look up to much, but hey, what do I know...

I tried it with the standard TIM and AS5, not a huge amount of difference tbh, in fact I haven't really noticed any difference :)

Then its more than likely that you have not got the greatest HSF seating then.AS5 with my freezer64 dropped temps by 6-10 degrees on my last CPU.

You won't see much difference at all between the MX-1 paste and AS5. The temp difference you saw won't be due to changing the TIM, it'll be the change of CPU that made the difference.

Was talking about my 3800venice, i had run out of AS5 when i got my freezer64 so used the white gloop. When i got some more AS5 i got the temp drop.

You do realise I was talking about the TIM on the Freezer64 and AS5 not between the standard HSF and the Freezer :)

Keep it, its as good as Arctic silver 5.

I concur. Built a new system at the weekend, and couldn't find my AS5. Reluctantly, I left the TIM on the arctic freezer and fitted it. The SD3700 is overclocked to 2.8 and is at 33-35C running pime95.
I can't see AS5 beating that.
