I'm loath to go down the mobo out, Thermaltake Ultra 120 route, but if I need to I will - cost is not a problem
but wondering if anything else I can do with current setup
I had a Freezer 7 Pro ... broke one of the pushpins, so got a Scythe Mine REVB instead, well it was OK but a REAL pain to install, and temps slightly worse than the Freezer 7 Pro
got a new Freezer 7 Pro, and after 5 re-installs, temps are OK, but not as good as I had before (prehaps this freezer is less flat than old one ?) - at my quite high clock @ 3.4 gig @ 1.4 Vcore (1.325 VID
) I can get up to during the afternoon - 77C load small prime after a few hours .... obviously not ideal - but stable
if I take the PC apart straight after heatsink is pretty darn hot - which is a good sign as it means its getting the heat way from the CPU, but it seems to get saturated, ie not being removed fast enough from the heatsink.
would an additional fan the backside of it - ie a push-pull config help ? or is the acreage of the Freezer 7 just not enough for high clocked Q's ?
thanks, Mark.

- perhaps I shouldn't worry too much - the only time it gets anywhere near 75C+ is under small prime. 1.28V for 3.46 gig sounds nice
