On closer inspection of my freezer 7 pro which arrived this morning I noticed one of the 4 supports (which hold the plastic push pins) is not quite square,i.e. if the plastic pins were removed and the bracket was placed on a flat surface 3 of the feet would sit flush , the 1 in question would be raised off the surface slightly.I have no problem fixing this ,
just wondered if it was part of the design so it fits easier ?

Thanks

It is not part of the design. If you wanted to do so you could return it as defective but since it won't hamper performance you can just use it as you will. :)

The thing about those coolers is that you can't remove and place it on more than 4 times the legs bend which is quite annoying... kinda makes me want to get a Noctua but then Copper heatsink attached to the mobo would need to be removed :( (Gigabyte P35 DQ6)

Thanks for the replies,I sorted it out with some long nosed pliers. It looks like the cooler has been removed from the packaging prior to me buying it.The sealed tab on the packaging had been peeled back and was not stuck properly. Also when I removed the fan the edges of the fins had been scratched and bent slightly, the thermal paste was still ok but replaced with A/silver.Maybe someone ordered it by mistake. It`s working fine stock idle temps on Q6600 95w are 36 c

The temps in speedfan of all 4 cores were a steady 48 c using OCCT for 30 mins , although intel TAT always reads the temps higher (65 c) why is that ?.I`m using F6 bios.Idle is now at 40 c as I`ve got my central heating on brrrrr its cold. What is the max safe temp on the cores ? , Q6600 95w,
Thanks Billy

Trust the TAT reading rather than speedfan.

I'd personally try to keep it below 70, but no doubt they'd be safer even higher.
