we are going to buy the Freezer Pro 7 v2 CPU cooler but read a review on amazon that says the HSF half covers memory socket 1..

if this happens to use is it ok to use sockets 2+4 ..? (dual-channel) or is it 3+4? we are installing 4Gb

thanks

the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2? i have one installed and have had no issues with it blocking ram on any of the 3 motherboards i have had it fitted to.

Assuming that you're using low profile memory, you should be fine in any of the slots. If not, you'll have to use the outer slots (2 + 4, 3 + 4, depending on your motherboard). The colors should match to enable dual channel.

thanks

nice pic!

yeah I think the guy may have put it the wrong way around or summit

thanks again

it can only go 1 way on amd chips, intel it in theory could go the other way, but my board has a heatsink there so i never tried.
what motherboard you gone with?

on the board iam getting the colors are like so
BLUE/WHITE/BLUE/WHITE
so i would have to put in two blue ones or two white ones to get dual-channel running yes?

thanks
