Freezing after playing 20mins of BFBC2 ?

hey guys ive been playing bfbc2 today and every 20-30 mins the game freezes totally i have to manually restart. I cant figure out the problem, ive reformatted, have the new drivers, no oc on the g card, reduced cpu oc. i cant think of what else i can do !

any help would be great as the pc cant do the 1 thing i actually need its power to do : l

Is your PSU a branded PSU that will be giving you real stable power ?

also I had a similar issue due to my CPU overheating so checking your temp might be an idea.

Does it happen with any other games ? BFBC2 is not exactly a beacon of pc gaming excellence and is prone to tons of issues because of the console frostbite engine its based on. I can't even play the game at all since the R10 patch.

Try running Prime95 to test CPU heat & FurMark to test the GPU.

Sounds like something's overheating.

cpu is a 650w corsair so thats fine, ive furmarked the gpu for an hour and stressed the cpu aswell, all fine. this is what i dont get : /

Could be the PSU doesn't like the draw when playing the game (high CPU & GPU usage at the same time).

You could try run FurMark & Prime at the same time?

the only other game i play is starcraft 2 and thats always been fine, dont play any others so couldnt comment.

I'd download a new game demo (maybe crysis or something intense) and test it on that, it might just be an issue with bfbc2.

ok, i have a crisis retail disk but left it at uni so ill grab the demo tomorrow, if it turns out to just be bc2 is there anything i can do ? or can i just not play it ?

just thought id bump this up, ive played 4 hours of the new need for speed now without crashing, so i assume its caused by bc2, is there anything i can do about this ?

Have you fully updated it and/or reinstalled it?

As Craig suggests remove it and all its config files and try again. I've had a similar problem on BC2 a while back.
Also I had a random lock up for about 30 seconds last night, but had been playing for 4hours and then didn't have another one in another 2 so figured I just got unlucky. Cores were all on 99%

i reformatted the whole pc so that should have been as good as/better than reinstalling

Oooo I just had it again after a 4 hour session.... 2nd time since Vietnam was release... fun.

BC2 has been a bit buggy ever since the vietnam release, server disconnects, missing stats etc. I was playing half an hour ago and got disconnected from a server, lead to my wireless net connection dropping out, had to restart the pc to get the connection working again.
