hi my system freezes within 1-3 passes of intel burn test.

stats are as follows:

z87 mobo, 4670k

voltage 1.225
multipler 42x
cache 39x
set to manual

everything else on auto.

what could be the problem? I've heard of BSOds, programs needing to close but I can't find a reason for these freezes!

i Have similiar issue with a newer system

i7 8700k
Asus Maximus X Code
2*16GB Corsair DDR 4 Memory

no BSODs etc. but freezing very often.

any idea here?

IBT is a tough test to run, any freezing, crashing, BSOD etc. while running a stress test on an overclocked CPU is most likely a result of an unstable overclock. Temperatures allowing, try increasing the vcore voltage and try again. If you're pushing the temperature limit, then you'll need to either improve your cooling or reduce your overclock.

Also 'torture' tests can be unnesesarily harsh.
My last system would always crash on a prime burn test, but it was solid as a rock in games and more normal benchmarks and never crashed at all in my usage.

So I've never bothered with them since.

So you have to ask yourself what you are testing for.

For me if a system crashes with any workload it isn't stable, if I bought a stock system and it crashed under IBT then it'd be going back. If you're doing something you really don't wanna be worrying about the system crashing on you.
