Freezing/stuttering in games

Over the past two months or so most games I've played have been doing some sort of stuttering or freezing very frequently. Normally this happens throughout the game and the freezes last for less than a second but are very noticeable. They are unpredictable when they occur but it does happen many times every minute and it's very frustrating.

This problem (as far as I know) did not occur when I had my old Intel processor and motherboard installed.

Specs:

AMD FX 8350 @4.5GHz
AMD 7850 @ 1050MHz
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
650W OCZ PSU
120GB SSD / 1TB HDD

The games this occurs on are Metro 2033, Battlefield 3 and Counter Strike Global offence. It happens VERY often on CS:GO but is a bit less noticeable on things like Battlefield.

I have downloaded MSI afterburner to monitor temperatures, fps etc but even when the freezes happen the frames do not drop. CPU temp is around 58C under Prime and in games the GPU is 60C.

I have tried:
Removing the overclocks on both the GPU and CPU
Updating drivers
Increasing CPU voltage

Thanks for any help :)
