How many tablespoons of grounds do you like to use? I have a 250ml press and use 3 spoons to taste strong enough but it seems like a lot for one cup.

The other thing I dont like is by the time it's brewed (about 4 mins) the coffee is not hot enough anymore. Like the glass radiates off all the heat.

What type of spoon?

If it's 3 teaspoons that it'll be in the weak side, 3 tablespoons will be fairly strong. I start by pouring some hot water into my french press and letting it warm up a bit. I then our this away and then make my coffee.

250ml = ~250g of water.

It's easier if you keep to one measurement.

Assuming the standard starting point of 60g/kg - thats about 15g of ground coffee needed - french press needs a longer brewing time than many methods as you have to use a coarse grind otherwise you end up with a cup of sludge, which you can do at the end anyway.
