So I'm looking for a fresh food hamper for Christmas. Smoked Salmon, cheese, bottle of wine, pate, ham. The usual...Budget is £150 - £200. F&M Seem quite poor for the fresh food offerings. Anyone have any suggestions?

John Lewis do a couple in your price range:

Have you looked at M&S and Harrods?

Harrods don't really do the fresh food hampers I am after. I used John Lewis last year, and have to say they were excellent. They delivered to Northern Ireland in the worst snow for the last 15 years, and I would certainly use them again. The Refresher is excellent value, but was looking for something different if possible. Might just grab the The Luxury Refresher. Forman & Field also look like a possability

I like the idea of these but they seem fairly expensive. I wonder what the total cost would be to get each item individually.

Clearly a lot less. But you have to organise it all youself, get a whicker basket from somewhere, wrap everything, then post it. I'm sure you'd save £30 or so, but it would take me a good day to source it all, and make sure it goes out quickly as everything will quickly expire and need to be put in a fridge.

I made up some top hampers for the family, like my nan, dad, grandma and the mrs' side last year. It wasn't massively cheap by the time you've done it all and packaged it all up but did chilli jam, christmas chutney, piccallili, chocolate truffles, shortbread, some wine and other bits and bobs. All the stuff was handmade bar the wine but had to buy new jars and everything so it all added up and in the end the time put in, you could have bought one.
Just nice to do it if you have the time.

That's a lovely idea, and something I'd definately do if I had the time. Chucked in the order for The Luxury Refresher for the 20th of December. Let's hope they haven't eaten it all by the time I get there!

The Refresher says it contains a whole smoked chicken but that packaging looks like one chicken breast?
