i got the PC from OCUK almost 4 years ago. ive my first SSD on its way and i cannot find a windows boot disk or product key, i got the fey from keyfinder.exe. i then have gone to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery to make the .iso file enter the key and i get

Unsupported Product

The product key you entered appears to be for software that was pre-installed on a device. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options.

im not certain what to do now, ive searched the box that the PC came in (and the box that it came in) ive still got the bubble wrap in it but no disks anywhere. so can a OCUK member help me out? is it possable that mine was shiped out without the key and boot disk? what would be the best bet now

OEM machines aren't usually shipped with an install disc but it will probably have a recovery partition on the hard drive.

i have recovered the CD key from CD finder.exe. just with a new SSD id like to make a fresh install and i cannot make the ISO file trying to find out how when i get the Unsupported product message

Avoid entering the key during installation if possible.

i have been emailing OCUK and they said
' i'm afraid we do not keep records of the activation numbers that are provided with systems. Sorry for any disappointment. It would not have been possible for us to send the system without the operating system activation details, as you will have had to enter them when the system first started up'

isnt not using my recovered key (via a program they suggested) defeating the point of having a valid version of windows?

they did however tell me to make a win 10 boot when i upgrade, but i was hoping to have a copy of win 7 as a back up as well as a fresh install on the ssd

You have a valid copy of Windows including the product key. What's the problem?

Do a clean install using one of the ISO files or clone the HDD to SSD using Macrium Reflect.
