Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me please? Im currently using an ATI x800 and have decided to upgrade to a 8800. Because of the swith switch from ATI to Nvidia a few people have told me that I may need to format and do a fresh install of windows (xp pro). I just wanted to know if this really is a must or if I can simply uninstall the old drivers/ati utilities, run driver cleaner, then install my new nvidia card. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Dusty.

Don't bother unless you run into serious problems.

I've never had any issues whatsoever when simply uninstalling old drivers, switching off PC, installing new card and then installing new drivers. Even Driver Cleaner is overkill most of the time.

Agreed, that will be fine. It only tends to cause problems if you have a very old install and have changed a lot of other components before.
