Fresh Install vs Cleanup

Hi,

I keep my PC mostly maintained. I have Avast and Malwarebytes running. I used CCleaner. Run sfc /scannow etc regular.

However I just feel something isn't right, I noticed it earlier when I hover over desktop icons it takes a bit to highlight or if I move past multiple it skips some.

In safe mode its fine so its clearly a software issue.

Is there any programs I can run to clean up all the rubbish and hopefully fix whatever is causing this or am I best just reinstalling windows. I checked my WINDOWS folder it was created on Dec 2019.

Reinstall Windows, if your using the free version of Avast leave it off, Malwarebytes isn't really required on a clean install either and stay away from CCleaner.

Yeah its Avast free and Malwarebyte Premium... so should I just use Windows Defender?

Could try Spybot search and destroy, i found it does a good job. My PC is usually much worse than what you are describing before i bother doing a fresh install

I'll maybe give it a shot before running a fresh install to see then
