Righteo - just reinstalling Vista on my brand new HDD and I was thinking.
How do you guys install all your apps and drivers?

I have all my drivers and apps on one disk.
Do you install all drivers and apps, all at the same time (where possible) - or reboot after every single new driver install?

Me... I install all drivers at the same time, then all the apps at the same time.

IS there a right way and a wrong way to do these things?

yup. install gfx first. prompts to reboot. select no and install the rest of the drivers..... and so on. :)

never had a problem doing this. and i've re-installed windows more times than i care to remember. i usually do it every 1-2 months. :o

Windows update
Video drivers, reboot
Sound drivers, reboot.
All my other drivers are picked up by vista and win update.
Finally install apps and games at the same time.

Not sure if you need to reboot for each driver install, but I figure its only twice so why not.

Cool - so I'm not the only one.
I thought there might be some other reason that I don't know about to reboot every time you install a diver.

Generally speaking I try and install as much as possible at the same time.

That said, in earlier versions of windows (win9x) I do believe it was worth installing directx after the video driver had already been installed (+reboot).

One problem I have is that now I use a wireless network, that needs to be installed pretty sharpish otherwise I can't do a windows update etc.
