I'm getting my new pc setup and I've come to the win install part where I need to partition my 2tb drive. I remember the last time I did this that things can get a little confusing, with windows renaming partitions drives incorrectly and other annoyances. I can't remember the order to do things either, for instance should I extend drive 0? Should I create 'new'?

Does anyone know a yt video which explains this procedure step by step? I want to partition my SSD so that windows is installed on 500GB just for itself, the rest will be allocated my D drive.

Any advice much appreciated.

Assuming you only want one partition on the drive, all I do is (in the Windows installer wizard) delete all the existing partitions on the drive and click next. The installer will create whatever it needs to

No, I want two partitions. One for win, one to be allocated my D drive. Actually though, thinking about it I'm remembering now that you can just give windows everything then chop up the drive later in windows..
