hello installing a fresh xp pro on a new 939 system

have 2 seagate sata on raid 0
and 1 120 sata

when i leave them all as 3 normal drives and dont set raid up etc xp boots from cd scans hardware and blue install screen comes up

as soon as i set the 2 up for raid it boots from the cd detects hardware and just goes blank screen, doesnt boot up blue install screen

any ideas??

its a dfi nf4 m/b

well left it on the black screen and after say 5 min it all kicked off and blue screen kicked in so all sorted :)

just out of interest is it normall for it to take like 5 or more minutes to go from loading from disk to the blue install screen?? only like this when got 2 drives in raid

probably need a raid bios update.. (if you update the motherboard bios, it should come with a sata bios update)

what motherboard do you have? -probably has a windows based update tool

Did you initialise the array when you built it?

The chances are that it was still building the array when you started trying to install windows although it shouldnt as its only stripped.

This is known as "Background Initialisation" and allows you to write data to an array on the fly while it is being built but can cause a performance drop.

Monitor the windows installation to see how it performs.
