fresh xp install

Hi,

I have reinstalled win xp pro after formatting....during this time there were no errors etc..

I have only loaded mobo drivers, sound drivers and gfx drivers...

When I choose to switch system off, my screen goes blank, but the system remains on...

Would you happen to know how I can fix this?

do you have xp running SP2 ?

sp2 fixes a lot of issues -including shutdown ones
