Frets on Fire

Not really a game, but a sim. PS has Guitar Hero. PC gets Frets on Fire. It only works for right-handers:
Hold your four left-hand fingers over F1-F4, but be ready for F5 with your little finger
'Strum' with Enter or Right Shift using your thumb
It can 'teach' any mp3 or ogg you want

Turning a keyboard upside down is stretching the whole "guitarish" thing a bit though

get a ps2 guitar off ebay & use the ps2 pad to usb adaptor
- now i can take guitar hero everywhere i go

there is a demo that came with the original Soundblaster Live! card that did that

crazy...

although it wouldn't work with my logitech keyboard as I don't have long enough fingers to reach the F keys over the media buttons

It's good. But it's nothing compared to actually playing Guitar. How do you get the mp3s working? It says you can, but I can't find how you do it.

*bump* this thread back to life

Anyone else still use this or try to improve it ?

I did try one of the new skins and it was ok but not great, I also tried some of the original Guitar Hero tracks on it with the guitar but it doesn't feel the same

Basically looking to make this as good as possible if anyone has any ideas.

On a side note - get the Shaimus album (Paper Sun) I imported it after hearing All of This on the bonus tracks and its very good.

Yeah I play this quite a bit. I got the Guitar Hero pack which imports all the guitar hero songs, some of them are pretty fun to play, some of them are bloody hard.
