Over here they ALL have to run fenders and would fail its MOT without them. A lot of owners choose not to but they can and do get pulled for it. These are all American except JoeT's pics and some states let you run fenderless. My experience is it's a nightmare when it rains as all the spray blinds you and if it's a roadster (no roof) you get covered in crap from the road.-Mic- said:Whats the regards hotrods and mud guards? Id have thought they would be a legal requirment?
The flared pipes out the side are called 'lakes pipes' and were popular on the salt flat racers back in the 50's. Since road cars have to have silencers there is a removeable cap in the end of the lakes pipe which blocks it up and diverts the exhaust down the pipes underneath with silencers etc.Clarkey said:a quick question about this one

that pipe coming off the exhaust and going under the car, what is it? And those are 'late pipes' right?
Not sure where that V badge came from but pretty much all cars in the late 50's had it front and back from the factory. I used to think it was only on Plymouths (Christine) but it's on Chevys, Fords and was on my brother's Mk1 Cortina.geiger said:Apart from the green bits which are still ok, the 3rd one down looks pretty dignified and suitably stealth so I'd have that for sure and the black Ford pickup is very bad boy styleWhats the badge on the front though
