Tell me you didn't buy an expensive system and try this cheap CiT 750UB 750 watt PSU on it ? That is your problem right there, that PSU is generic rubbish and can't power that system correctly, send it back and get a Corsair or Antec PSU. Don't keep trying to power on the system with that or you will fry it. Them PSUs should not even be allowed to be sold, they are a fire or electrical shock waiting to happen. If you need advice on which PSU to buy ask again mate but buy any 650 watt + corsair or antec and you won't have these problems.

Also the arching PSU before that im guessing was another cheap supply and caused these arches too happen where a decent power supply would have shut down before blowing. Scary stuff mate.. and you are again trying to cause an electrical fire with the new PSU, i'm surprised you didn't ask the supplier which PSU for your setup and anyone with any common sense and understanding of PCs would have advised you to stay away from that CiT PSU.

Send it back mate and get a refund and buy a proper PSU.

As the guy above said, that psu is epic fail mate. Go and buy something decent to run that nice hardware.

PSUs are often overlooked when building a PC. Look at these things that shops sell, ok its a core I7 and 1tb hard drive, wi-fi, dvd-rw, sounds great but thats about it. Onboard graphics that couldnt run chuckie egg, a psu that isnt fit for the bin, cheapo motherboard.

I done the same tho, brought some 600w thingy for £25 thinking it would be fine, didnt last 6 months and was lucky it didnt take out any other components with it, we live and learn i suppose. Got an xfx 650w xxx now and very happy with that, quiet as a mouse, hardly and heat out of it and runs my system sweet, plus the piece of mind knowing that i got a decent psu in there.

As already said send it back, £30 is way too cheap for a psu. Not only can they take half your rig with them but can give stability problems. Check out Jonny Guru website for power supply reviews, he knows his stuff. I hope you haven't lost anything too expensive. Next time Google all the posts you want to buy or come here for advice, saves a lot of hassle...

Might be a bit late as it seems that the PSU might have done some damage to the parts.

I02RUBERDUCKS - You'll need to find another system where you can test your parts one by one to verify they work.

Or try another PSU. What PSU do you have?

I had an incompatibility issue with a Coolermaster PSU which gave me the same problems. 1-2 second startup then off. So if you can find a spare (decent) PSU from a friend or someone then try that.

The old PSU was the same. I rated it by amazon reviews which were mixed. I chose the 750 watt because my system needed that much the new boards arriving today. But yeah I will return the psu and find a good one. Can anyone recomend a good one for a relatively low price? The pc was a budget build
Thanks

What's the budget? Don't see why you need a 750W one your specs don't seem to indicate needing anything as high as that.

You will have the same problem trying to power the new parts. The old parts were fine and shutting down is the normal behavior when they are under powered . You will need a new psu to power that system, you are wasting money and time sending the wrong parts back as you will realise when trying to power the new parts. You cannot use that type of cheap psu on that type of system mate.
