Friend having problem with a virus

Hello guys

Posting on here for a mate of my , he was downloading something, his Kaspersky instantly picked up a malware, But when he went to fix it nothing happened. it will not fix it when clicking"fix" I have run a Malwarebytes was able to pick something up "Riskware.tool.Hck :confused:

The file were it is suspected to be located, isn't allowing me to have administrator over it for no reason when trying to edit.

Any thing else i could do to make sure that the Virus has gone or still on the pc?

system restore to a day before he downloaded the virus? should get rid of it

Boot in to a Ubuntu Live USB, delete the file from the HDD.

When in Windows run CCleaner and do a registry scan, remove all errors as they could be linked to the newly deleted file.

Run several virus scanners one after the other.

It was already removed. Within reports you need to set it as clear.

Your friend could consider Sandboxie.

I always browse in the sandbox and everything downloads into it.
If I want to recover a download I scan it before removing it from the sandbox.

Everything else, good, bad and indifferent stays in the sandbox and disappears on shutdown.

It's free although with slightly reduced functionality after 30 days and a small nag for 5 secs once a day/re-boot.

You can run other apps in it.
