to the BM yesterday, free of charge. Obviously he/she was feeling a bit shy and forgot to leave a note so I could thank them.

The parking bays in Sainsbury's are pretty adequate, so I'm a bit lost as to what vehicle did this. The damage is from front to rear, so looks like somebody has reversed out to the left and swung too wide, too early. Can't see any paint residue, which is odd and I cannot for the life of me figure out how the hell they managed to dent the arch only lightly yet chip the wheel?

On a brighter note, I took it in today to Williams BMW and they took pity and gave me a cracking quote a few hours later via .pdf...

So I threw some bleach in my eyes to feel better.

I'd really, really like to think that some daft, half blind and deaf old lady in a battered Transit did it and had no idea and drove off none the wiser. I'd be a hell of a lot less ****** off.

I think you should tell Williams BMW to get bent. Take it to a specialist workshop and get it done, will be a lot cheaper.

My good lady reversed my car into a brand new Astra last year and did a lovely job of mangling his rear arch, far far worse than yours. Cost £450 inc vat to get it sorted and resprayed (luckily had some of my christmas bonus left  ).

Feel glad the list is that long for the money!

BMW near Hampstead somewhere charged not far off that (taking inflation into account) for a wing mirror replacement!

bmw dealer prices are extortianate, my parents had a service when they first got their bmw and think on the price break down, an oil change was about £100  if not more! needless to say they don't let bmw service their car anymore lol

That quote is insane. Real shame, I remember you posting the pics up of this car, its stunning.

lol - that's absolutely ridiculous.

That needs filling / sanding, flatting, priming and a respray.

I'd say somewhere around £400 should sort that, i'd be very suprised if it was more.

Might be an odd question but wouldn't the car park have securty cameras? Might be worth finding out and if so get the police involved and see if the culprit is caught on cam.

Someone dented my door the other week in the car park at my home by presumably opening their door into mine, they never owned up either. Scumbags.

You'll get that done by a non-stealer for £150 max, I use a guy in the middle of nowhere who all a the dealers go to for inexpensive repair to trade ins, all his trade usually comes from forecourts but I just happen to know his dad :)

Nasty :(

Maybe it was a trolley or something
Trolley would gouge the paint, that looks more like a plastic unpainted bumper making contact - i.e. a transit, 4x4 or just another car without colour-coded bumpers.

The gouge on the alloy is very bizarre though - are you absolutely sure you didn't do this yourself? (just asking).

I've had someone scuff the rear bumper on my Civic Type-R in a car park, been quoted anything from £100-£250 to repair it. :(

If thats Williams BMW in Liverpool, their bodyshop is not renowned for the quality of its workmanship.

Doesn't look like much paint is needed there and I reckon a decent sprayer would be able to blend it on the quarter panel without the need to go into the door given its a small area.

Ive got a series of small scratches, metal like on the front bumper of my car. Which happened in a car park.

Imagine something with bull bars reversed into it. :(

it would help if driving standards in this country were raised. a lot.

no more than 5 minors to pass and then re tests every 2 years, then idiots like this would be on the road. :S

Ouch, hurts to see that mate :(.

Is it the e90 you bought earlier in the year? You should be able to get the wheel sorted for around 60ish, the wing shouldn't be too much to get sorted either as it's not down to the bone. BMW are jokers when it comes to doing anything like this, it'll be worth going to an Indy/random bodyshop if you know any good ones around you, and should cost way less than half the price of that quote.

Total and utter PITA though, particularly as you've owned the car from new...
