I really don't know if I'd have wanted others to finish a project I'd started.

I'd probably have been really annoyed if someone else finished up my Prelude in it's entirety, without my knowledge. If I was ill - I'd have used the project as a reason to stay strong and get better soon!

He's not now going to be able to say "I restored this from scratch, it took me 5 years, here it is!"

It's great that people thought to offer to help and actually do it, and whilst he may be putting on a happy face about it - is he currently filing divorce papers because his missus allowed other people to finish off his project?
