Friends got a virus on 'C' drive how do i remove it?

Hi,

Friend stupildy downloaded an exe and clicked on it, which has now infected his PC.

I lent him my copy of Ultimate boot CD which has antivirus software on it but it hasn't removed it. Having a read around even if it can detect a virus it can't remove it as the volume would be NTFS and therefore read only, is this true ?

Otherwise any ideas how I can remove the virus ?

depends on what the virus is.... any clues?

UBCD (newer versions anyuway) can mount NTFS r/w - but you have to select that option (can't remember what/where it is)

sorry but if you dont know what virus it is how do you know its a virus? :-S
