so he has a new pc now, and has a 60gig ipod pretty full with music and video can anyone recommend some software to pull the data off? So he can start over

if this is not allowed then please delete, however this is a valid reason to get his data back

yeah it's quite frustrating, personally i back up all my music and video in two other locations so in that sense she only has her self to blame, but yes, you should be able to get what is yours when you want!

Don't own an IPOD but why can't you just retrieve your music? propprietry format? no software? i thought itunes handled all that?

I've used a nano with Amarok on Linux and that worked pretty well?

I thought you could just copy out all the music from the f00-fxx folders and while none of the tracks have names iTunes is able to sort out what everything is. Worked for me in the past.

This is why I don't buy a ipod.
CTRL C and CTRL V is all I need to do.

-just had a look at the iriver volcano, damn that looks nice

i wish more companies would start putting microSD slots in their players and doing away with the hard drives

I've got an iriver Clix, was great when it came out, syncs brilliantly with WMP, pretty crappy with anything else, the ones before had the option of acting as a mass storage which would be better, as would SD cards (switch from other deivces like phones then).

I've been using a program called Floola to handle the tunes on my old ipod, it might pick up all the music that's already on there. If it does, you'll be able to copy it onto the new pc
