Im going to see one of my mates abroad, and he has asked me to bring a bottle of magners for him, i am flying from stansted, from what i can gather, if i buy the bottle in the duty free, i can take it in my hand luggage, is this correct?? if not would it survive travelling in my main bag? Cheers for any help (Please no magners flaming, he wants a bottle of magners, so i want to take one for him!!!)

Just buy it now and put it in the luggage, pack it in between lots of clothes and it'll be fine. I came back from France with lots of glassware from Bodum and they all survive.

As for duty free ? It's only £1 a bottle isn't it?

Wrap it in a towel and bung it in your main luggage if you want to be sure

You could always phone the duty free shop airside and ask them.

you should be able to take liquid duty free on board ( except for frlights to USA ) , however I would be surprised if they sold Magners in duty free

As long as you're not going to the states once you're past security anything you buy in bottles is fine.
